Two years in early access, and the fog is finally lifting. Enshrouded hits 1.0 this Thursday, and a few small decisions you make before then can save you a lot of annoyance.
Keen Games’ survival RPG launches out of early access on October 15 on PC and PS5. This guide covers the launch time in US time zones, what is confirmed to change, what is still unknown, and how to back up your save before you jump in.
Information below was checked on October 11, 2026 against Keen Games’ official posts and the Steam page. We have not played the 1.0 build, so nothing here is hands-on.
Enshrouded 1.0 Release Date and Launch Time
The date is firm: October 15, 2026. Keen has said so on its own news page since its June announcement, and the Steam listing shows “Leaving Early Access: Oct 15, 2026.” PS5 launches the same day. Game Informer reports that the Xbox Series X|S version is planned for spring 2027.
The time is less settled. German outlet PC Games Hardware reported on October 8 that the launch is at 5 p.m. CEST, citing Keen. That converts to roughly 11 a.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. Central, 9 a.m. Mountain and 8 a.m. Pacific. We could not find the hour on Keen’s own news page, so treat it as reported, not official, and check Steam or Keen’s social channels on launch morning.
The takeaway: plan for a late-morning launch on the US East Coast, and do not clear your whole day until Keen confirms the hour.
What Is Confirmed for 1.0
Keen’s September 23 combat post is the most detailed official source so far. These are the confirmed changes:
- Level cap: player max level is 50, and the equipment cap is 55.
- Nine new spells: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, plus Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem, Summon Shock Totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton. Summons are a new spell category.
- Eternal spells: 22 tier 7 versions that do not consume spell ammo and can be upgraded with perks.
- Wands: heavy attacks now pierce enemies and can interrupt weaker ones, with new Aerial and Evasion wand skills.
- Archers: new Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct skills, and three new Eternal arrows (Fire, Shock and Bone). Aim assist options are also added.
- Enemies: every faction, including the Fell and Scavengers, gets new variants, some heavy or elite.
Outside combat, Keen’s October 8 post introduces Sparkworks, a logic system that connects inputs such as levers and pressure plates to outputs such as opening doors or springing traps. PC Games Hardware describes it as tied to sharing player-made adventures, which Keen’s own post did not detail.
Your Skill Tree Will Reset
This one matters if you already have a character. Keen’s post says, in its own words, that the skill tree has been reset, and it warns players not to leave their base without spending their points. Skills have been added and moved, which is the reason.
The takeaway: set aside ten minutes after loading in to rebuild your build before you walk into the fog.
What We Still Do Not Know
A few launch details have not been published as of this writing:
- The full 1.0 changelog. Keen has said it would arrive in October.
- Whether existing worlds and characters need any conversion. No wipe has been announced, but no one has published a complete compatibility statement either.
- Crossplay. A hosting company reports that a Keen community manager said there is none at launch, but we could not find an official statement.
- Updated PC requirements. Keen has said it is working on performance for lower and mid-range PCs, so the numbers below may change.
Several server hosting companies have posted launch guides. They are useful for detail, but they sell servers, so we have only used claims that match Keen’s own posts.
Price and PC Requirements
The Steam page lists the game at $39.99. Keen announced on August 31 that the price would rise by 10 euros on September 8, and said the post-early-access price would be higher. If you already own the game, you should not need to buy it again when it leaves early access, though Keen’s post does not spell that out.
| Tier | CPU | RAM | GPU | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 5 1500X | 16 GB | GTX 1060 or RX 580 (6 GB), or Arc A380 | 60 GB |
| Recommended | Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 2700X | 16 GB | RTX 2070 Super or RX 6700 XT, or Arc A770 | 60 GB, SSD recommended |
Both tiers list Windows 10 64-bit and a broadband connection. These are the current Steam listing figures, not a 1.0 update.
How to Back Up Your Save Before 1.0
No official wipe has been announced, but a backup costs you five minutes. Community guides give two likely save locations on Windows, depending on whether Steam Cloud is on:
- Close the game completely. Do not copy files while it is running.
- Find your save folder. With Steam Cloud off, it is typically
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\enshrouded. With Steam Cloud on, look inSteam\userdata\<your user ID>\1203620\remote. Your Steam folder may be somewhere else if you installed it on another drive. - Copy the whole folder to a dated name, such as enshrouded-before-1.0. Copy every file, not a few.
- Keep a second copy on another drive or in cloud storage.
These paths come from third-party guides written for the early access build, not from Keen. If you run a dedicated server, check your host’s panel for its own backup option.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping the backup because no wipe was announced.
- Playing on an old server after launch. A hosted server and your client both need to be on 1.0, or you may get a version mismatch.
- Ignoring the skill reset and walking into a fight with unspent points.
- Trusting a single launch time. Confirm it on launch morning.
- Expecting crossplay or Xbox on day one. Xbox is spring 2027, and crossplay is unconfirmed.

Final Thoughts
Most of what matters for launch day is small: a backup, a skill respec and a quick look at the clock. Copy your save folder tonight, and everything else can wait until the servers go live.
